Hello Sunshine

Well i don't know about you but i am relieved to leave my suffering umbrella at home & venture out into the sun! All this rain & staying in may have its benefits though.  Perhaps its given you lots of printmaking ideas & now you really want to get into it again! The year is still young, the inks will dry quicker now  too. Impress Printmakers has  further workshops scheduled for Warilda street; they run from 10am until 4pm so it gives you lots of time to ask questions & work with professional tutors. Here is whats coming up.

Drawing Workshop with Jude Roberts

Experience the Freedom of Drawing

Operation Enduring Freedom by Jude Roberts
Explore drawing techniques over two days; immerse in the possibility of marks instructed by Jude Roberts. The Drawing Experimental workshop encourages participants to experiment and search for various ways of seeing, drawing and thinking. The methods used present the ‘student’ with ways to express their own mark making. This is done by investigating different approaches to drawing including observational, conceptual and intuitive strategies. Conventional and unorthodox materials and tools are used and participants are encouraged to discover new ways of implementing them including the use of chance to create effects. Materials include charcoal, graphite, pencil, watercolour, gouache. During the workshop, examples of work from contemporary and historical artists are shown, but ideas are encouraged from personal experiences and thinking. Banishing the ‘inner critique’ and taking ‘risks’ in drawing is encouraged.
Our next workshop is  scheduled for March 24th & 25th. Price is members $180 non impress members $220. Email karenworkshopco@gmail.com visit www.impress.com to use paypal
