Impress Printmakers Studio member Sandra Pearce is a busy lady. Not only is she our trusty treasurer but she has been immersed in creating her solo exhibition that is opening very soon.
You are warmly invited to "Conservation of the Species" an exhibition by
 Sandra Pearce that
runs May 19th until 23rd & will feature an exciting array of printmaking, artist books, handmade paper, & fibre sculptures.
Visit the Richard Randall Art Studio at  Mt Coot-tha Botanic Gardens;open 10am -4pm daily to view the works or drop in for d
rinks with artist at 2pm Saturday.
Sandra is also running workshops whilst she is there so why not make at day of it at the beautiful and accessible Mt Coot-tha Botanic Gardens in Brisbane

In the Race an Artists' Book has been selected for Books, beyond words - an evolution at the East Gippsland Art Gallery in Victoria http://eastgippslandartgallery.org.au/index.php?page=books-beyond-words
The human race once hunted animals – now we farm them.
Encased in the metal ‘race’ the cattle are unaware of their fate
In the Race is a sculptural exploration of conventional book materials encased in metal pages. The etched aluminium plates, each containing a pictograph, are reminiscent of ancient stone tablets.

Emma Lamond is a new member, who has a space at In.cube8r, a shop in the valley where she sells art. More details soon.

Amanda O'sullivan 's  book 'Sparrow' was acquired by the Manly Artist Book Award (see home page).She has also had 2 works selected for the East Gippsland Art Gallery - Books Beyond Words Evolution. They are 'Sparrow Star Book'below and 'If a Tree Falls' Above Left . Along with that you may also participate in  two workshops lined up with Impress one on Coptic binding and the other on making Japanese boxes with a bone clasp. For those wanting to see Amanda in action why not go along to Kenmore Library on the 31st August where she is doing a full day of demonstrations/workshops.


 Lisa Pullen & Gwenn Tasker team up for a show at Circle Gallery Brisbane
Gathering Leaves (Lisa Pullen) and The Descartes Blues Part 1: Nature Consumed (Gwenn Tasker) . They will also be showing the two books from the Nightladder series which were featured in the last Imprint Imprint Magazine .
View the works at the CIrcle Gallery, opening the 5th August at 6:30 p.m, running until the 10th, so just one week! Lisa is also the first artist on the profile page on this blog so pop over & find out more.






Sally Picker
Received an Regional Arts Development funded grant that has allowed her to copy and print laces from Ipswich residents.In July she has an exhibition ( as detailed) displaying these works along with another artist Donna Davis.
